Spell Shapes
These are expanded options for spell shapes that I use for my games.
There is a reference sheet for each shape on a square and hex based grid, as well as a recommended conversion guide for those who don’t wish to use this rule. Due to the nature of this conversion, I don’t promise every spell’s balance after adjustment. Where length or radius X is mentioned, it is in reference to the size of the spell as written.
Cross

A cross spell is formed with two straight lines intersecting at their midpoints on a space, which is the point of origin for the spell. A X-foot Cross denotes a length of X feet in each direction of the shape, starting from the point of origin
Conversion. Should you wish to use a Cross spell without using it’s shape, I recommend turning it into a Square of size X+5, to most resemble the effected area. For instance, a 10-foot Cross would become a 15-foot Square.
