Cleric Items

Divine beings fuel many fantasy stories, with their powers being the source of two whole classes in 5e. Paladins and Clerics therefore have a lot of overlap in item options and that results in it being quite difficult to find unique items for one that doesn’t fit the other.

I present here a limited set of items which I feel fit the Cleric subthemes more so than Paladins, though I largely leave them open to attunement by both. If you want more options, I would point you towards my specific item lists for individual deities from my settings in order to properly flesh out your divinely fuelled character.

Purelight Wraps

Wondrous item, common

These white wraps softly glow in a golden light.
By spending 1 minute as part of a Short Rest these wraps may be applied to a creatures wounds. If that creature expends Hit Dice as part of the rest, they regain an additional Hit Point for each Hit Die expended.

These wraps lose their magic when applied once, which is restored daily at dawn.

Ring of the Maiden

Ring, uncommon (requires attunement by a cleric)

While wearing this ring you can cast the Sanctuary spell from it as a Bonus Action at will, but can target only yourself when you do so.

Rod of Grace

Rod, rare

This golden rod has a shining gold fish adorning it’s head. It can be planted into the ground and, after 1 minute, an illusory golden aura appears in a 10-foot-radius Sphere centred on it. The atmosphere inside the Sphere is comfortable and dry, regardless of the weather outside, as rain and snow fizzles out of life at the aura’s periphery. Any creature that completes a Short or Long Rest within the aura gains 20 Temporary Hit Points.

The aura lasts until the rod has been removed from the ground, and after it has created an aura this way the rod loses it’s magic until dawn. Extreme conditions such as acid rain or a blizzard may penetrate the aura if left exposed for too long (DM’s discretion).

Storm blessed Symbol

Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement by a cleric or paladin)

This symbol of a god has been blessed by a bolt of lightning directly from the Stormfather. Whilst holding it, if your deity is of Good alignment, you may use this symbol as a spellcasting focus, you gain a +1 bonus to your spell attack rolls and you gain Resistance to Lightning damage

Beads of Divine Requital

Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement by a cleric or paladin)

These prayer beads consist of 12 brilliant gems that can be seen in the dark. Whilst wearing them, you may cast the Hellish Rebuke spell at 4th level, without expending a spell slot. When cast using the beads, the spell does Radiant damage.

Each time you use the spell, one of the beads lose it’s light. When the last bead’s light is extinguished, this item becomes nonmagical.

Helm of Danu

Wondrous item, very rare (requires attunement by a cleric or paladin)

While you wear this helm you gain a +2 bonus to your spell save DC and whenever a spell you cast grants another creature Hit Points, you gain Hit Points equal to half the amount you restored.

Shield of Stillness

Shield (shield), very rare (requires attunement by a cleric or paladin)

This ornate shield shield is wreathed in golden patterns, which combine from afar to look like a peaceful face.

While holding this Shield, you have a +1 bonus to AC, in addition to the Shield’s normal bonus. In addition, whenever a creature rolls a 1 on an attack roll targeting you, they become Incapacitated until the end of their turn.

Creatures you target with an attack roll or force to make a saving throw are Immune to this effect until the end of your next turn.
